I'm assuming one or both has/have someone else already line up. I wouldn't even know how to enter the dating game after that long, but if you randomly meet someone while married....I think it'd be easier to leave that way.

Mte. My aunt and her husband got a divorce after 35 YEARS because she realized that she just wanted to be alone. She’s much happier now and they remain a good friendship but I can’t lie that must be absolutely heartbreaking for the other person even if it is necessary. That is always a fear when you’re in a long term relationship
