i watched aristotle and dante last weekend. it was okay, i thought the two boys were well cast. but it also sort of reinforced my book feelings that there wasn't really sufficient build-up of the romantic feelings between the two. like, i get that certain scenes were meant to indicate that aristotle was into dante, just as they were in the book, i just felt like what was presented on page and on screen didn't convey it well enough. but at the same time, i'm not sure what i would have done differently. guess that's why i'm not a writer lol.

i watched x and pearl this week. the first was not for me! maybe it's because i knew the big casting twist idk but it fell flat. i enjoyed pearl a lot more.

love at first sight doesn't look groundbreaking (and all the people who pointed out that love at first flight would've been a much better, less generic title were right lol) but i like haley lu and it looks cute enough, so i'll probably throw it on at some point.

I saw Barbie in theater for the 4th time on Monday because my sister hadn't seen it and that needed to be fixed immediately. We had such a blast, zero regrets. And this time I saw the two extra Kens doing the chacha in the background of the ken fight so I still got something new out of it.

I also finally got around to rewatching The Princess and the Frog (relevant to the western trailer up there), which I needed to do to research my next drag act (the theme is Disney). I hear and understand all of the criticism, but even with that most of it still holds up (especially the animation, which remains gorgeous; a true pity the mouse pivoted entirely to 3D after this). I mean yeah they made Disney's first black princess a frog for most of the movie but she was an adorable frog. Also the whole B plot with the firefly and the star _broke_ me this time around.

I am also still chuckling over "It's not slime! IT'S MUCUS!" days later tho.

Nothing of note is coming here except A Haunting in Venice, so I’m glad it’s getting kinda good reviews.

Love at First Sight(such a lazy title) looks cute-ish, even though Ben Hardy is not.

I can’t believe they made all those After movies. Who is financing them? Who is paying to see them?
