I love it when ugly people wear loud glasses. Classic distraction technique.

Love that the studios/streamers have started suspending their deals with the big talent and the big talent is like "lol ok bitch, let's rumble".

BTW does anyone think this is more likely to break the AMPTP than the strikers? Because the studios and TV are going to need content quicker than the streamers are and I think they're starting to freak out. We've already seen a lot of the mini-majors go "Fuck that" and sign interim agreements.

I saw an article (by either THR/Variety) saying some AMPTP members have off the record said they're feeling the heat (and apparently an offer went out to the WGA yesterday), but who knows what kind of spin the trades are putting on it.

Can they just un-suspend the deals after the strike or will people like Ryan Murphy/Greg Berlanti insist on renegotiating their deals?
Because I wouldn't go back to work for someone who - presumably - stopped paying me for a few months, if they didn't do anything to sweeten the deal.

there's been reports from even studio-friendly trades like deadline that there's a ton of infighting amongst the studios right now, which is extremely funny since they were hoping the unions would do just that and fold. point being they don't seem to be that unified at all right now, which could be as much of a problem for them as the backlog of shows/movies drying up.

I was also gonna say, given how much he's made, he's only giving 500 grand?

“ This is not the first strike-related donation by Murphy, one of the most prolific and highly paid showrunners in the business, who is poised to sign a deal with Disney after the WGA strike following a stint at Netflix. Back in May, following the start of the writers work stoppage, Murphy was among top showrunners who collectively contributed $1.7 million to the Entertainment Community Fund.”

His Netflix deal five years ago was worth about 300 million.
