The actors were not on strike and directors already closed their deal!!! Many other shows and movies were still filming and promoting while the writers strike was going on…”Hi, Barbie!”…

I hope this is just the start of funds like this.

(Have not forgotten the scab allegations from a few months back though.)

I think Greg Berlanti also gave $500,000 to strike funds after WB suspended his deal with them.

$800k in total with $300k to the general strike funds and a $500k pool for his crew and staff to pull from.

It's good cause unfortunately the general strike funds seem to be a one and done type deal and while something is better than nothing it's ultimately not a lot of money given all the time they've been on strike.

You also have to be in good standing to receive general strike funds which is really hurting writers who were on shows cancelled pre-strike. Some of them also require having worked a year...which is again a problem for a lot of writers. My friend wrote for Legacies (she was on the writing staff for the final season) and it was like only 6 months of work.

Honestly good for him and Berlanti. Other producers should follow. Mostly mine. I would love a little relief right now. The savings are dwindling. Being support staff sucks.

Hope your producer feels the pressure and joins in. ❤️

Or better yet the AMPTP gets their head out of their asses and negotiates a real deal so this can stop and people can get back to work.

Thanks for the well wishes. To be honest I doubt my producers will join in. There's 3 of them and they've yet to prove themselves to be unselfish individuals even when we were working.(Their assistants are still working on personal stuff and getting paid (good for those assistants tbh) so I doubt they even thought once about the rest of the show's assistants and how we aren't working at all).

My hope for actually getting an income back lies in the AMPTP giving in to pressure long before these 3 realize other people work on the show.
