Topher Grace emerging as (presumably) the least awful cast member from That 70s Show is a bet I would've lost back when it was on TV tbh

I always felt his somewhat negative reputation from that 70s show was similar to how SMG was painted - two people not interested in gossipy stuff and just wanted to do their job and go home. Probably a reason Topher has had a much steadier career than Wilmer or Danny

Nice comparison bc I can definitely see that now. Back then I thought that he thought he was on his way to A list movie stardom and therefore better than everyone. Time has made a fool of me lol serves me right for projecting

Glad I never watched that show, so I don’t have a personal investment in the trash who defended him. Disappointed in Giovanni Ribisi though, just as a Friends fan.

I don’t understand the point of these letters. They seem beyond pointless. Ted Bundy was known as a good guy and his co-worker couldn’t believe he was such a terrible person. Since when do all rapists/murderers go around being horrible to everyone they meet? It’s such stupid logic. “I think they have integrity, therefore they can’t possibly be horrible to other people”.

The point is that they work. How many rapists get off with a slap on the wrist because the judge says "I can tell that this is a smart young man from a good family who made a single mistake, and I don't want to see his whole life ruined because of it."

Fucking disgusting.

I hate when this happens because it shows how much the system doesn’t care about victims, especially women and children. I’m not saying every victim has their life completely ruined from violent assault, but it’s like they’re being told “hey, at least your assailant didn’t kill you, so suck it up and let’s hope they don’t do it again.”

I do think that sometimes they work against the person. In this case, it's more of an example of how dedicated celebrities and Scientologists are to covering up their friend's crimes and how he relies on big, popular names to vouch for him.
