When I started dating I realized finding an Asian guy who doesn't drink is only a smidge easier than finding an Asian guy who doesn't smoke. You would have a higher probability of photographing Bigfoot, Nessie, El Chupacabra, and the Zodiac Killer together in a group photo before finding a guy who abstains from both.

I know knetz going to give him shit for this, but I've been into kpop so long that I remember when photos of smoking or drinking would end a kpop idol's career. I'm glad it's not a complete career death sentence over there now.

Wait, when? I'm asking genuinely because I remember when Gikwang was photographed smoking back in like 2011 and people voiced disappointment but that was it. Even Cube was like "well he's a legal adult so 🤷." Now, underage smoking/drinking is a different story with regards to how severe the reaction is, but I still can't think of a time when it ended someone's career.

Smoking as a singer is just so dumb, you're essentially ruining the instrumental you're making money with. So many Kpop singers are heavy smokers and you can hear it in their voices.
