Hobie, HANDS DOWN is the best part of this film, thankfully they kept him in.

They could've cut Gwen's intro or better yet, reworked Miguel's characterization instead of having him go ape at a 15 year old (esp since this characterization is such a divergent from the comics), but what the fuck do I know?

Truly Hobie, Miles and his family, and the little we got of Margo plus the animation are the saving graces for this movie. Writing-wise; clunky and spread thin and making Miguel act like that now that he's visibly Latino were CHOICES™️

Mte. The movie definitely needed editing down, but Hobie was one of the great new additions.
Miles’s strange behaviour, the long convos with his parents and just the time it takes for the plot to actually get going are things that needed to be reworked.
