Oh I remember. He was in a YouTube video with her and Mandy singing and playing the guitar. “I she makes me happy…why do you really care?” Was the lyrics to his song, I think lol. Miley was acting a mess on Ellen about this man…and no one really mentioned the weird age gap! I guess because he went to church with the family he seemed like a good guy. 🙄

wasn't Mandy also 20 when she was "bffs" with Miley at 15? Even back then (I'm like a year younger than Miley), I was like "why is a 20-year-old best friends with a 15-year-old?"

Yep! I think Mandy was her backup dancer so they somehow became bff's. I can't see myself being 20 and wanting to hang around with a 15 year old. My employer at that.

It was very common in the 70s to mid eighties and by common I mean no one blinked an eye, it was socially acceptable to be with 17-18 year olds back then (and at times younger, depending, but that was not as socially acceptable. If you were a young girl back then it was pretty much a given that you would be with an older man at some point.

yeah, it was kinda normalized and fucking weird. like teenagers are bad, but a 16 or 17yr old was ok.

You could get married as a teenager back then in a lot of states too. Some as young as 13. No wonder shit like this was the norm for celebs.
