I can see it. Before the pandemic, people tolerated a lot of things and for a lot of people it had a "life is too short to be dealing with bullshit" effect. That's why a lot of people quit jobs, broke up with SOs, made hobbies their main gigs, reevaluated friendships, etc.

Whatever it is might be underwhelming. He seems to have collected people at their career peak versus actually having built them from scratch. A lot of his big names might have wanted to leave for a while from lack of performance, but his roster of other big names kept them from making the move. So when the first major one leaves, it's like a domino effect of "yeah I wasn't impressed either."

Of course, I will eat my words if it's something like he has terminal cancer and 4 months to live.
