I was watching "it's okay not to be okay" but homegirl is like if Wednesday Addams was a legit sociopath. And then I read about the lead actresses leaked texts to her bf and I lost all desire to watch it.

Now I am watching "doom at your service" and I am really enjoying it 3 episodes in.

I can't wait for "destined with you" I will watch anything supernatural related 🔮

I looooooveed the vibe of It's Ok to Not Be Ok, but yeah... the female lead was... a lot. It's been a while since I watched so I can't remember the specifics, but iirc she did some stuff that was kinda irredeemable to make me root for her to end up with the male lead. And like obvs she had trauma but that doesn't excuse some of the stuff she did. Also like, for the male lead, it seemed like his character arc was about not devoting his life to his brother and letting his brother stand on his own two feet. So you'd think the happy ending would be the male lead learning to live for himself. Except... it kinda seemed like he just replaced his brother with the female lead. lol He was still functioning as a caretaker, in a lot of ways, but to the female lead instead of his brother. But I loved the style of it. lol. So I couldn't fully hate it.

Doom At Your Service was great imo!!! At least the A-plot. I didn't give a fuck about the B-plot, but the A-plot was EXCELLENT.

I LOVE the spooky vibes. The stop motion animation is great and it has an amazing soundtrack.

I will probably just finish watching and move it on to my problematic faves list lol

this post pains me because my kdrama list is out of control. still working my way through. i did do a mydramalist and i think i am at 22 days of watched asian dramas and 70 shows. not bad for just watching since march.

out of the newer netflix shows i still want to watch hellhounds and celebrity. their recent romcoms don’t interest me (apologies to my icon).

Will you be watching, ONTD?

Yes, I'll give just about any kdrama a try. And by "try" I'll watch at least 10 episodes to see if it'll get better, no matter how bad it is.

Big shout out to the ONTDer who recommended The Cursed! The first "procedure" victim death was sooooooo satisfying and demented 😆. I'm only a couple episodes in but I'm exciting to see how creepy and/or crazy it gets!

Anyone here watching Behind Your Touch? I was looking at the comments for the first few episodes and it appears to a be a crime/fantasy plot, which normally I love, but the FL's a psychic who can see memories after touching someone's butt?? The main cast are all well established actors so it must have a great writer or director attached, because I can't imagine that plot pitch was selling it to anyone...

There’s sth off about BYT to me. I really want to stan for Han Ji Min tbh.

I didn’t like how violent LMK’s character gets with HJM like are we meant to root for them to get together…

Oh lemme rant rq:

I’m watching Not Others and i’ve been reading bits (dramabeans, asianwiki and twitter) about how the comedy or “immaturity” of Jeon Hye Jin’s character puts people off. I think it’s a very weak and slightly sexist opinion.

There’s a high tolerance from kdrama fans for bromance and their shit (literally and figuratively) jokes and gay baiting. But a female led comedic drama which touches on female sexuality, abuse, growing up too quick but holding onto youth is too difficult for people to watch? Give me a fucking break lol.

There are issues with the writing itself like there is too much going on for next week to be the last week. I don’t buy the older couples romance too much. That criticism I can take lol.

Urgh I'm not surprised by that shitty criticism, you're right, it's incredibly weak but very telling of the current climate in SK. Also are they not aware of how young Jeon Hye Jin had her duaghter like I thought that was kind of the point?

I really like Not Others so far (altho I'm behind atm so no spoilers pls), women led dramas tend to be my favourite anyway hehe.

I also just really enjoy Sooyoung's acting, her dramas have been my favourite out of all the snsd members.

Oh no spoilers from me dw lol. But yeah! The character had her baby alone, young, with an abusive father, dead mother, ran in “delinquent” circles PLUS the stigma single esp unmarried women get? The trauma of that especially on the now adult daughter who despite everything grew up really well. Like the cleotrapa tiktok clip: *aggressively poking head* turn it on!!!!

I’m somewhat sensitive to criticism of “noona” dramas and women-led dramas because the international reactions stink lol and they’re in such echo chambers where opinions like mine calling their shit out gets piled on. So I just seethe on my own lol.

Soo is definitely my favourite of Soshi Actress-line. She and Yoona are the ones i’m more likely to watch.

Yeh I find they're really underappreciated and if they are talked about at all, it's rather negative. when people will watch other utter shit just bc they think the actors are hot 💀 women led dramas have to be amazing otherwise they're never good enough for these ppl.

Tbh most of the dramas other intl fans love I don't care for 😂

Most of the dramas I watch are women led though, altho it's more common for jdramas
