Aporia looks interesting, but could definitely be bad. And I might watch Red, White & Royal Blue bc it looks cute and I have a decent amount of free time in the near future.

Other viewing possibilities for the next week include Afire, which came out several weeks back, but is still hanging around at a local indie theater. Might also go see Joy Ride and/or Shortcomings, but I've heard mixed reviews on both.

The one thing I am for sure going to see this weekend is a 4k restoration of Tokyo Pop. It's from 1988, and is the only other film than Fran Rubel Kuzui directed aside from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They added a Q&A with her to the showing I bought tickets for, so that's a fun bonus.

Aw, I enjoyed Joy Ride a lot. It was fun but had a lot of heart. Watched Shortcomings on Tuesday and while it was good, the male lead was high-key unlikable (the character, not the actor who did a great job making him insufferable).

My good pal is visiting this weekend, so tonight we're going to the How Did This Get Made show (they're talking about Jonathan Livingston Seagull, which was DEADLY boring and weird and I have no idea where they're gonna find any comedy, but Tall John Scheer just gave it 5 stars on Letterboxd??????), and then we're seeing a bunch of movies over the weekend, including The Meg 2 and TMNT on Sunday. I'll fit in Red, White & Royal Blue somewhere, and probably Demeter next week despite the bad reviews lol

I neeeeeed updates showtimes for Passages next week/weekend. I gotta see it!!

The latest Netflix movies I watched (The Out-Laws and Happiness for Beginners) were SO bad (and I usually have low standards) that I'm a little reluctant to movies from streaming platforms. Hoping that Red, White & Blue on Amazon Prime will change my mind

The Pod Generation looks good, and I also have a fondness over Emilia and Chiwetel
