And she clearly does not give a fuck about the judges' feedback. This week, Nina told her that she could have used more stripes and Laurence said, "I could have but I didn't," and then just shrugged.
I love that she just knows when feedback won't work for her. Like more stripes might be what Nina would do, but it would not be Laurence so she is not even entertaining the idea.
I don’t recall an All Stars season before where the near consensus amongst the contestants - thought to vary degrees - was that they don’t care about the judges’ feedback. I’m wondering if having an actual successful designer as their mentor (i.e. Siriano replacing Tim Gunn) has made the input of the mostly non-designer panel less relevant? I guess that’s also compounded by the fact that this is probably the most established collective group with successful business that they don’t have much to prove at all and only benefit from the exposure.
I love real client challenges and see how designers work with people. I appreciate when the clients are people who know the spotlight to a certain extend, regular people just have so many new things to deal with and like reality show casts know the drill and are more relaxed.
Boy did I think there was a Shandi from ANTM moment coming for Anna there. Glad it didn't and damn the awkwardness in the workroom the next day XD
I felt bad for Prajje, he tried to do more than just stripes with the print and no one appreciated it. I get that maybe some editing would've helped, but the general idea imo was good to bring something new to those uniforms.

I like the real people challenge. This one made me think back to redesigning the postal uniform (Kara Saun did well on that one).
