No young American kid maybe. When I was a kid I lived in a Germany and there were a couple different non-alcoholic beers and I loved them. Drank them all the time.

Also Latinos also drink non-alcoholic malt beverages (that’s what a non-alcoholic beer is at the end of the day) ALL the time. Would even argue it (at least in the Caribbean) is as common as soda.

I was also a kid in Germany, I don’t remember that being a thing for us, but I never liked beer, even to this day I avoid it.
But can confirm Vitamalt is as common as soda in some Caribbean countries. It somehow got sold as nutritious, better alternative. I was trying to tell a co-worker how it’s loaded with sugar (she’s older and the doctor wants her to cut down on sugar)

Not necessarily, no. I provide psychological support to families and often have contact with social workers and so many families neglect their children in a similarly negligent way and get away with it as long as there is a roof, bed and food. There is just too much need for help and not enough available and the agencies are completely overloaded
