I'm assuming maybe the powers that be at HBO agreed with him so were more willing to upend everything. I just don't get why anyone saw or worked with the show and thought, yes, what we need is to make it more exploitative and focus on a bland stereotypical character from someone who can't act at all. Like, did they objectively think that would make a better show? Focusing more on The Weekend?

Because he is an executive producer along with the supposed reason why A24, HBO, and BRON (which is now filing for bankruptcy) sunk any money into the show in the first place along with Sam Levinson being on board…
Amy was not fired she quit. I am not a fan of the show by any means. But, I do understand why the weekend had as much sway as he did…
