I was sort of disappointed by the season (series?) finale.

It's such a cute show about two dummies reconnecting and it was so disappointing [Spoiler (click to open)]that basically the second they got "back on track" they ditched each other again??? WTF

I love media about friendship and for the most part when the show is about that it's really cute and good.

re: the spoiler -- I saw that as the typical ebb and flow of friendships. the second time around wasn't a fraught break, just kind of a natural consequence of shifting priorities and circumstances.

Yeah - the more I had time to reflect (b/c I felt the same way as the OP) it makes more sense. Esp. since she was married with kids vs him only dealing with a divorce. I think the dynamic would’ve been diff. if they both had kids.

I liked the show. Seth and Rose are fun to watch but like, why? And like, don't.gif at the Shia LaBeouf joke in the pilot. And the Ari Lennox shout-out 😂😂😂

[Spoiler (click to open)]"- I didn't know we got an Ari Lennox now.
- Oh, we have an Ari Lennox and she's really good.
- Wow. Good for her. I wonder how Annie feels."

Also Luke Macfarlane looked good. 👀

i mostly liked this show but i did kind of feel at the end that there was a weird...not platonic vibe? like will was sad he was moving away and then sylvia was jealous about will getting engaged? and that totally could just be the co-dependency of their relationship and not romantic but it kind of felt a LITTLE that way

i'm also not sure how they do another season of this, if they ever intended to

There's something very ~safe and realiable about the single friend and when that friend is suddenly in a committed relationship, it can be bittersweet to the others (even when they're in relationships themselves). As the perpetually single friend, I'm very familiar with that vibe lol And most of my friends are gay men so it's not like they wanna fuck me either way, but it's pretty normal to see dynamics shift a bit in the beginning.

I think a new season would essentially be around Sylvia planning Will's wedding and all the moments in between.

Yeah - I hope they continue it tbh. I think Seth mentioned it was only meant to be a limited series. But if it’s super popular maybe they would reconsider and continue it. Esp. since Seth/ Rose seem to work really well together.

I can see this happening with Sylvia planning his wedding, it’s a natural progression in the plot.

I think the wedding planning could easily fill the whole season and we could get plenty of moments of them being bratty, friendly, loving and insane lol The UFO moments were so funny, I'd love more of those. I'd also like to see Sylvia getting to know Will's wife, i'm sure she'd be all jealous and condescending at first only to realize the wife's actually a nice woman. It was such a surprisingly fun show that I'd really love for it to have another season.
