I'll never forget the story how my mom (who was pregnant with me) almost bought me the first Holiday Barbie (1988) but didn't get it because she didn't know if she was having a boy or girl. Well she ended up having a girl and that doll in mint condition can sell up for a $1000 🙃

to be fair, odds are high you would've played with that doll eventually and might not have her still anyway, except maybe lots of memories of love.

My mom probably would of never took it out of the box. All the other Holiday Barbies I have are still in their boxes.

I had the Barbie Fashion Designer game when I was a kid and thought printing custom clothes for my dolls was the coolest thing ever. I ran out of the printer fabric so fast, lol. I wish I still had some of the outfits I printed but all my Barbie stuff was lost one move at a time, alas.

One of my core memories is meeting my dad at the airport after he left for a work trip and he brought me a Locket Surprise barbie.
My other favourites growing up were Jewel Hair Mermaid and the one with an Orca whose legs turned into a wetsuit black in water (so she lived in the bath of course).
