I saw Harry last week. I‘m not even remotely a fan… but my friend wanted to go, so I went with her.
You know what? It was amazing! People going on about gen z not enjoying concerts because they’re always on their phones.. What a load of bs. Everyone was having the time of their lives. Every. Single. Person. in that stadium was partying like there‘s no tomorrow.
It was almost magical and there was none of that toxic atmosphere like there was back in the panic at the disco/ fall out boy/ era where everyone in the audience hated each other and was willing to break someone’s arm in order to get an inch closer to the stage.
>:( that’s it. That’s getting too much trouble. So inconsiderate and disrespectful, and inconvenient. Can’t it be made officially illegal and make it ironclad from now on? Like shut that loophole or something
I wonder if this is like sasaeng fans hitting thier faves? They just want a reaction. Or is it more like the person that hit Bene Rexha and they just find it funny?
Maybe a bit of both. It all points down to getting attention/being noticed. People will do anything to be THAT PERSON whos video is circulating on tik tok regardless of context.
I think the Bebe situation was a bit more “unique” than the others. the man that threw the phone intended to hurt her.
Most of the other situations recently seem more fans looking for attention gone wrong. People throw things on stage (bracelets, hats, sunglasses, tshirts) in hopes that the person performing will pick it up and wear it or acknowledge it and then they’ll have a picture of the artist with their “thing” (bonus if they take a picture with the item themselves before throwing it). Things like bracelets and sunglasses are small but that makes them harder to see and also they still hurt like hell if thrown especially in the face/eye area. It’s all tied up in attention.
