I've had depersonalization (the latest while I was filming a mock therapy session as a therapist in training) and it really fucks with you. I can see how that happening while doing a filmed podcast would be super overwhelming. Best of luck to him.

especially their podcast where (this is based off the one episode I watched with Kelly Clarkson, so maybe they aren't always that excited) they are expected to keep their energy level at like a TEN the entire time

Yeah, Bowen's pretty high energy and he probably feels a ton of pressure to always be funny and on point.

I would try and notice in what kind of situations it's happening, but most people experience something like it at some point in their lives.

I think it's pretty normal. If it starts to be something that interferes with your life on a regular basis, then it's a concern. But otherwise I think it's fine to simply use it as a barometer of how your mental health is - like take stock of your stress/anxiety levels or people/things in your life that could be linked to it and adjust as necessary.

It's a long story but in 2019 I started having really bad anxiety symptoms but I didn't realize it was anxiety I just thought I was dying. Anyway one of my "symptoms" is I would sit down to dinner with friends or something and then it was like this glass wall was placed around me where I could still hear everyone but it was dimmed down and I would just answer people on auto drive without even thinking about what I was doing. Anyway once I met up with a qualified therapist she was like yep that's derealization

It also really fucked with my vision, sometimes things would be too sharp where everything looked TOO real, or it would be like a blurry vibe, and my therapist once again was like yep that's another part of derealization lol

i know exactly what you describe. its such an intense out-of-body feeling, looking at my arms and not experiencing them as my own.

Ugh the way your vision makes everything so sharp it’s like it’s outlined in marker UGH

that sounds terrifying, honestly, like your mind is breaking you out to cope

That’s 100% what it is. It feels like you’re living in a weird glass bubble away from reality.
