enshittification is a real word??

"Etymology: From en- +‎ shittification. Coined by Canadian-British-American author and blogger Cory Doctorow in 2022.

Noun: enshittification (countable and uncountable, plural enshittifications)

(neologism, Internet, vulgar) The phenomenon of online platforms gradually degrading the quality of their services, often by promoting advertisements and sponsored content, in order to increase profits."

Huh. The more you know....

Glad to see this trend of people stepping away from the toxic soup that is social media when they need to. I can’t imagine how people, especially celebs handle being bombarded 24/7 with other people’s unsolicited opinions and thoughts.

Last week I went to a concert with my friend who spent the majority of it refreshing his emails and Snapchat for the majority of it, and I realized damn we all have issues.
