Epilepsy is hell.
The comments just taking digs at him/his music feel gross to me but my partner deals with epilepsy and now has memory issues, sometimes stating there's just a blank where the past was. It's been hell for them, they lost pretty much everything (even had to stop going to school) so I'm a little sensitive to it. They worry that people will just assume they're on drugs or had been in the past because of the brain fog, pausing, and slower response time they now deal with. I see why now.

I also don't know much about him outside of like one song and cultural relevance/Lean but did a little reading about him being groomed before finding an article that talked about this video and...

he was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and the topic was again presented to Wayne

IA about some of the comments. Even the comments about the lean -- like yes, of course he shouldn't be drinking that, but let's also not act like addiction isn't likely playing a role in things, too, and i dont feel the need to poke fun at addicts for their addictions

ONTD can be so backwards when it comes to how it sees addiction

Exactly. I see no need for anyone to act like it's not serious. Addiction on top of trauma on top of epilepsy which is also traumatic in itself :( I don't know who he is as a person but I'm not interested in making negative comments about someone's ability to remember/care about things whether it's related to addiction, trauma, or a medical situation.

For some reason, I thought other people felt that way too and it makes me sad to be reminded that people will choose to look down upon someone because of their addiction rather than consider how insidious addiction is and where it can lead people.

I didn't realise he had epilepsy. No wonder he has memory issues.

my mom has epilepsy which is thankfully under control now, but back when she was having frequent seizures it pretty much zapped years of her memory. it's so sad. there's so much of my childhood and her life totally lost to her.
