Obviously he’s done a lot of drugs but medical issues causing memory issues isn’t some thing that’s talked about enough. I have like 3 different conditions that cause brain fog and some days I can’t remember anything at all. It’s hard!

Totally. Epilepsy and autoimmune diseases really affect the memory. So do TBI.

And honestly…dude was groomed by a super creepy dude. Trauma has that effect too. That’s a lot for sure.

Absolutely!

I was an English major and now I struggle to read because I can't retain details. I dropped out of school because of it. I did a quiz about "The Bell Jar", one of my fave books (I'm basic), and failed it. It sucks.

It is starting to get better now but healing isn't linear AND I'm still taking the meds that exacerbate my brain fog. I've pretty much switched entirely to comics and manga - the combo of writing and illustration helps me remember better.

thats sad for you girl...

i remember that time, unprovoked, wayne said he didnt believe in blm - which, arguably fair, but his reason was that he loves his white fans & cops were always nice to him or some nonsense. anyways thats all that comes to mind when i think about lil wayne who made it out the trenches of nola & switched up like the unboxing of a fresh malayasian wig

I just think about his misogynistic lyrics when he’s brought up.

I think we have to acknowledge the fact that while the lean certainly didn't help, Lil's Wayne mentioned all the way back in 2013 that he's had seizures for far longer than the public knew.

It is what it is. Hindsight is 20/20. He's probably not the only person with on going health problems that took on a devil may care attitude in their youth.

I remember the summer that Tha Carter III came out and he was like the biggest thing in music. What a fun summer that was tbh I have a lot of nostalgia tied around that album

I wouldn't have thought that Lil' Wayne of all people would make me reflect on my health journey today. 3 days ago I was in a state where it felt like I would never be able to read or write again, or be able to use most of my memories. I wasn't even able to hold a pen or press the right key on the keyboard much of the time. Since last year I'm back to uni. It's not going too well there, but just the fact that I can write and read again... I still can't believe I got back to normal, and got back to normal so fast.

Anyhow... I kinda feel for him, but I take it from the comments that I shouldn't have too much empathy for him.
