Tik tok user "theservicespaniel" has a made a video accusing actress Sydney Sweeney of putting a fake service animal vest around her dog so she can take it wherever she wants. This is a common and despicable thing to do as it takes away trust and options for people who really do need service dogs

To be fair, this doesn’t just apply to celebrities. I know a lot of people who got their dog certified as a service dog just because they’re entitled and want to be able to bring their dog everywhere.

Yes! Working in malibu it was nuts every dog was a service dog yet would jump on people and go to the bathroom inside 🤦🏻‍♀️

Businesses and government establishments have the legal right to ask someone to leave if their dog is behaving in that manner!

the way her evidence of sydney taking the dog "everywhere" is... two photos? one of which is a fake candid that sydney shared herself (as an ad for the drink she's holding)?

I agree the evidence is weak! But I still thought it would be an interesting discussion post because fake service dogs bring up a lot of emotion.

i totally get that, and if it turns out she is doing that i'll be very disappointed. it just seems odd that this woman is zeroing in on her of all people with not much to back it up.

Yeah but the fact that she has a “service dog” vest tells me it’s true tbh. There are scammy websites who will sell you those vests and ID cards when the fact is, there is no service dog registry and nothing to certify your dog as a service dog. The people who buy vests and whatnot claiming their dog dog is a service animal are always the ones passing their regular dogs off as “service animals.” I bet if you asked her what task her dog was trained to perform, she would have no answer for you

People that do this are despicable. They make things so much worse for people who actually have and need a service animal. An emotional support animal is not the same as a service animal. Her using a service dog vest is beyond gross. Even if she tries to claim her dog is an emotional support animal, it still shouldn’t have a service dog vest on.

I know of people who went through the process but use them as any other pet. Also, the guy abuses his dog and kicks it and yanks on it. I wish I could report him. 😡
