It’s likely based on Candy’s description of events, which is why it’s exactly the same. Difference is that Candy (the show) made Candy (the killer) out to be more manipulative and creepy whereas Love and Death is very intent on portraying Candy as more innocent.

EO stans doing too much about this scene because Biel is doing a better job acting. Elizabeth is trying to be too campy.

the hulu show looks better. better lighting, cinematography, costuming. they also look like real people

i also think they're playing the scene better. it feels like there's too much...intent in the scene with olsen and rabe, their acting feels deliberate as opposed to lived in.
