man, losing a pet sucks. my cat died 9 years ago and I still sometimes talk about her like she's just at my parents' house waiting for me to come home

Same :( What makes it worse is tht she was really sweet. Id never had a cat before that would come to you when you called. All she wanted was to make me happy. (well that and sleep and eat her kitty treats) She didn't think I was a loser, she truly loved me.

my cat is the same way, basically like a dog. we had to say goodbye to his brother a few years ago and it was devastating, so i try to spend as much time as i can with him bc he's 16 years old and idk how much time we have left 😭 hope our kitties cross paths in heaven ♥️

Same. I had the same cat from age 8 to age 25. I adopted her when she was already an adult, and she was almost 20 when she passed - and it was traumatic, not a peaceful passing. It was legitimately like losing a family member. It's been almost ten years since she passed and I still get upset sometimes when I think about it.

Ugh I took my dog to the vet to get an anual check since she turned 10 and I teared up when they referred to her as a senior and that she is getting blind (is nothing bad yet), and her joints are crunchy. Pets should be forever.

My dog is 11 and this was her first check-up where they were concerned/needing to monitor things. She's still healthy and full of life, but I've been looking at her differently since the appointment. My sweet girl :(

omg this is so sad. i'm sure petunia was a major source of comfort and joy while she was going through some traumatic shit. losing a pet is absolute hell. i wonder if john saw her at all after they divorced.

I feel like I remember hearing they were "splitting custody" (lol) when the divorce news first came out and there might've been pictures of him walking Petunia but idk if that continued after he had his kid.

I read an interview/article that Anna-Marie did sometime last year and it seemed to imply that John wasn't a part of Petunia's life and didn't take the Petunia-related fanart and gifts he was given on tours when he moved out. I might be mistaken though.
