You’ve been wondering. You’ve been waiting. You’ve been warned. The sixth season of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror is BACK. The most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected season yet is arriving in June on NETFLIX.
Hopefully the multi-year break gave it time for something good bc the last few seasons have been underwhelming. Will maybe wait for reviews before it comes out.
i haven't watched black mirror because everything feels terribly bleak and pointless as is but...it being in space seems cool enough to get me interested :,)
thank you! i've been meaning to watch the san junipero ep for sure. i'm at a point rn where i can't even do the last of us even though i have played both games and know what goes down haha.
Add "Nosedive" to the list, it's my favourite ep! The cinematography, acting, and writing are great. If you like absurdist humour, you'll like this one.
"Striking Vipers", "Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too" also have beautiful colour grading and aren't depressingly bleak. Agreeing with everyone that "USS Callister" is a fun one, and "San Janipero" is one to watch even though I wish they had better lighting.
If you want something that's intense all the way through, watch "Metalhead". It's almost got an horror edge to it and it's one of the more memorable episodes even though not a lot of people don't like it. I like that it seemingly takes notes from Mad Max Fury Road where they don't explicitly explain anything about the world because it's the characters and their decisions that drive the plot. "White Bear" also does this but it's still the most depressing and morally horrifying episode of the show (granted, I still refuse to watch the first episode so maybe that's up for debate, lol).
I had to check where I left off and I never finished watching season 4. The earlier seasons are really good but idk why I can't get into the latest seasons.
The earlier seasons were when it was just a C4 show. I think Netflix kinda ruined it as it started appealing more to a generic audience with a slicker feel, bigger stars, and American directors.

I've been wanting to rewatch some of the early eps/seasons. My husband hasn't seen many of the really good ones and I think he'd love them.
