Ted Lasso 3x6

Apr 18, 2023 23:42

Ted Lasso ep 6 is out on @AppleTV written by the brilliant Coach Beard himself @brendanhunting. No spoilers but judging by these pics, Roy, Beard & Ted have a frown off, Jamie and Roy perfect running in slow motion and Jamie shows Roy the first part of the YMCA dance. #tedlasso pic.twitter.com/8Q2tthNvOu

Phil Dunster sounds like the name of a character rather than a person

Every time I see the name in the opening credits I assume it's the guy who plays Coach Beard

I did this for the longest time before realizing it's not.

YES, my brain scrambles it into Phil Dunphy from Modern Family.

Absolutely loved all of his scenes with Colin. Wish he would've joined the club sooner.

After this episode I fully love this character!! Like so many other shows I assumed he was going to use what he found out about Colin for his own gains so seeing him be so kind to him had me crying! He's easily one of my favourite characters of this season.

Not going to lie I really enjoyed this episode! It kind of felt like a fantasy ep but I enjoyed that. Especially Jamie and Roy getting closer and Jamie showing how much he cared about Roy but also idk if the two of them could've been jogging for like ... hours and hours.

ALSO TRENT CRIMM I WAS [Spoiler (click to open)] FUCKING RIGHT!!!! I loved the way he handled Colin - like a scared animal - and then talked about it. Clearly Trent has a backstory that's detailed (is it his ex that he came out to a second time? what is in that story) but he was so nice to Colin, staying with him, drinking the vanilla vodka lmao. Big heart that one!

Right? Especially with Roy's injury! I know they're athletes but there's no way they spontaneously ran what has to be a full marathon and then bicycling all night. I don't even think they ever stopped to eat or drink anything.

Trent and Colin's scenes were so unexpected and lovely. And I think he was talking about his wife not really believing him until he told her a second time. It was all just so lovely! I can't believe this is the finale season, it feels like we're finally getting to know the secondary characters :(

I really think it's his ex-wife because he doesn't wear a ring, and since they're closer than ever, that explains who called him when he was first going into the office. And he seems like the sort of guy that would wear a ring if he was married, because he wears all of the other jewelry too.

I have a feeling that if the season ends up being as well received is the other ones that however it and they might do spin offs. I guess I don't know how that would work but I am pretty sure that Jason just wants this to be over on his end. Which I get because he's been through a lot in the past couple years whether that's a good or a bad thing, but it's also kind of sad. Because I love Trent

Oh ya, I meant his now ex-wife.

I don't know how a spinoff would work but I definitely want more of these characters. And the world where mental health is taken seriously and everyone is open about their emotions. They gave us more of this world in Shrinking but I want MOREEEE lol

Rebecca’s entire storyline this week felt like a typical plot from a very basic romance novel (before all the bodice ripping begins) but it was nice to see her relaxed and happy. Ted stressing that she hadn’t ha-ha-ed any of the gifs he had sent her was so Ted.

I know a lot of people complained about Coach Beard’s episode last season but damn if he doesn’t know how to have a good time. A+ for his costume! I would have rather seen the party he went to than watching the team waste hours fighting about what to do on a no curfew night.

And awwww at Jamie teaching Roy to ride a bike so they could find a windmill.

I hope to see more of the Colin/Trent friendship!

The only part about the hotel scene I liked was Mo being all detective-y. He cracked me up!

I loved all the Jamie and Roy scenes. It was so funny and cute, especially when Jamie taught Roy to ride a bike. They've come so far!

It was good to see Ted finally do some actual coaching instead of just being a motivational speaker this season. Like damn, took him long enough to do something about his team.

The whole team arguing what to do, in particular Dani wanting to see a single tulip and wanting Dutch food was great. It was good to see the team really hanging out and bonding.

The ep felt like it could have been from season one, I hope the rest of the season feels more like this.

I’m with Dani! Have Dutch food while you’re there!

I’ve never understood people who go on vacation and then want to eat food that’s exactly like where they live, but everything about the American themed Burger Barn made me laugh (and it’s more understandable for Ted to be interested in a place like that since he’s been living away from the United States for three years now).

tbh, it's actually really fun to go to American themed places overseas just to see what other cultures view as American.

And also one time I went to an American themed place in Belfast and they had Tex Mex fajitas on the menu and included a pronunciation guide for fajitas except the pronunciation guide was wrong and had them pronounced as fah-gee-tahs. lmfao

Stuff like that makes going to American themed places overseas 100% worth it, imo!

I was thinking more of people who go on vacation within the United States and then insist on eating at Olive Garden or Subway. It’s exactly the same menu and food as where they live so I don’t get the appeal. I always want to try local specialties and local restaurants when I travel. Even if I just go on a day trip, I’d rather try somewhere new or different.

Between the giant tower of onion rings and the separate menu for dipping sauces, that restaurant was hilarious! I can see how going to a place like that would be a laugh.
