This poor woman, I feel like she was forced to grow up when she was just a little kid, and then to go from a bad home life to moving in w/ an abusive older guy who made her make explicit tapes & get his kiss print tattooed on her. I hope she has a great support system, and that her book helps not only her heal, but other women who know exactly how it feels.

I’ve never heard anything bad about her professionally, at least until the Taylor Kitsch thing which to me is questionable at worst, not even bad. I’m not a fan but from what I know about her, she seems lovely? I hope she’s happy and healing.

Nothing much except that she dated him while he was a co-worker and she was warned not to. Just what was in the article lol

there was a post earlier about their relationship while working together. she gave taylor all her energy on set and never got to know the other co-stars, then when they would go through periods of break-ups/fights, taylor would go out with the co-stars to drink and have fun while she was alienated from the rest of the group. also during those periods she says he wouldn't be in the hair & makeup trailer with her or travel with her to/from set.

I love Minka, and I have been a fan of hers since FNL days and she has been so strong, especially when she is still completely despised just because (fucking Chris Evans fans always being the worst, they always used the sex tape and the peep show thing against her, to shame her saying she was a sex worker and a scammer and creating terrible rumors about her).

She pretty much lived so many lives, she even was a nurse. Recently she opened the question box on her instagram and talked how her relationship with her mom and how she grew up made her keep people at arms length because she was so used to people leaving and hurting her, so she did it first to avoid the hurt, so she had to learn how to grow and become a better person and friend.

Also I've been listening to the FNL podcast Scott Porter and Zach Gilford have and when they talk about her they always speak very fondly. Zach said she was his bffs during those years and Scott mentioned that Minka was always the first one to stand up for them and against shitty situations.

People online have been so mean about Minka for pretty much forever and much of it rooted in straight up misogyny. I hope sharing her story has been cathartic for her. I had no idea about her backstory until these memoir excerpts were released.

I think it was misogyny coupled with resentment that this pretty girl seemed to have just stumbled into fame and a starring role on a great show.

Jealousy and misogyny are a horrible combo. I see it a lot on fauxmoi.

I also get resenting that someone like Anya Taylor Joy and Margot Robbie are overexposed and mid actors at best, and have money, but to actively hate them and post about it tells me there's a deeper reason there. Plus fame seems horrible, idk who would want that life. I find that jealousy easy to understand tbh, society pits us all, especially women, against each other so horribly. But when people are so vitriolic, that's scary and seems to very much have a deeper root cause.

Especially when I'll look up someone kinda niche, like Cherry Jones, to see if she's in anything theatre that my broke ass can maybe afford, and I find insaaaane hate fan accounts for her! Like from Sarah Paulson/Holland Taylor stans imagining drama? It's so unhinged! Didn't Cherry and Sarah break up like a decade ago? Plus, Cherry has been married for almost that long! It's so unhinged...

I just watched Brooke Shields' Hulu doc last night and thought she was super graceful toward her mother, same here for Minka. It's gotta be hard.
