Fun fact: that line isn't scripted. Robin fell in that scene for real and keeps repeating "we're okay/we're fine/shut up" so they wouldn't cut. You can see Hank Izaria and the actor who plays the son disguising laughter with exaggerated, fake sobs and wine chugging. I think Agador was supposed to add the shrimp which led to the line.

This all just makes me love this scene/film even more.

I love how he went right in and shifted the narrative. They all knew she wanted to go with a “let’s have an Oprah moment” for ratings, and they weren’t having it.

If anything of note happened in her interviews, it was front page news, didn’t matter how “famous” the interviewee was. Oprah was/is an opportunist, and would have loved nothing more to have dragged him out of the closet if it got her headlines. Let’s not pretend that this was a “oh that guy, no1curr”, this was more about Oprah fishing for an Oprah moment.
