It's the sequel to my post about WOC Best Actress winners/nominees! This time, we're looking at Best Supporting Actress nominees for the Academy Awards. It is marginally less bleak toward the end, but is still real rough.

She's not a WOC but Mercedes Ruehl won BSA for The Fisher King (1991), but she has Cuban ancestry.

It actually interesting Latinos have won in all the acting categories except Lead Actress.

Carol Channing's history is wild cause she wasn't told her heritage until she was 17:

"When she was 17, she left home to attend Bennington College in Vermont and her mother told her for the first time that her father's mother was African American and his father was German American. Her mother felt that the time was right to tell her since now that she was going off to college and would be on her own, she didn't want her to be surprised if she ever had a Black baby"

To this day Olivia De Havilland and Joan Fontaine are the only siblings to win Lead Acting awards. Other siblings have won but not the same categories.

Ben Affleck has won Screenplay awards but Casey won lead actor.

The fact that I didn’t work for a couple years after The Color Purple is not unique. It not only happens to White actors sometimes, but with Black actors, too; but more so for women of color.

I feel like this hasn't changed much tbh You would think an oscar nomination would bring so many offers.

I re-read my comment and it looks like I am saying Queen Angela instead of Queen Latifah. Also Taraji P Henson, who should have got nominated for "Hidden Figures".
