The only thing not absolutely reprehensible and disgusting about this film was the opening.

One of the few films I’ve seen to fill me with rage.

I didn’t love Scream 5 but the use of the legacy characters (Sid, Dewey, Gale) was perfect and all three were really, really good - their characters felt appropriately lived in and the actors seemed there with their whole hearts. Gale was an embarrassment in 6.

The reveal was so laughably bad in almost every single way. All movies - especially horror - ask you to suspend belief but this was equal parts dull and HOW/WHY?

Tara, Chad, Mindy were caricatures of the more grounded, interesting versions of themselves from 5. Sam is an exception in that she came off a 1000x better in this film.

I liked Gale in 6. Dewey was basically Gale’s morality pet. Even with him alive, she still wasn’t a great person. With him gone, I can see why she reverted back to being selfish old Gale. I also thought her call with the killer was pretty good. The last one screwed up Dewey’s death imo and I can’t forgive it for that. His death was so bad.

The main issue I had with the characters in this one was how invincible they all were. That was completely ridiculous and made it feel like a bit of a parody.

The last two weekends have been hopping at my theater. I have high hopes for John Wick making it so we actually spend a month in the black (don’t close us regal, we can make money if the movies aren’t trash!) and maybe they’ll, gasp, give us enough payroll to not have lines reaching the door during peak hours. 🙃

I haven’t actually watched it tho. I don’t watch movies anymore.

Not a spoiler bc this applies to basically the whole franchise, but am I the only one annoyed by the fact that GF's height/body shape/believable human strength NEVER matters? The director(s) have straight-up said that it ruins the movie if you're paying attention to how tall everyone is, but imo that's kind of a shameless cheat. I like the fun of figuring out who has the motive (and this time I was partially right!!), but come on.

Also there were TWO We Hate Movies posters?! I only saw one!

Was fully prepared for sweet Danny (whose actor was great in the underrated Sirens) to either be killed (in mirror to 2) or be one of the killers, so was pleasantly surprised he wasn't... the killers were disappointing but i think by this point who the killer(s) is/are really doesn't matter, it's about the journey (the killers we meet along the way)
