God I'm really gonna need a Titan spin-off with Captain Shaw and First Officer Seven. I just love their dynamic of not really liking each other but still working really well as a team.
There were so many good scenes this episode. Picard with the recruits in the flashback. Riker and Deanna patching things up (PLEASE more Deanna!) Shaw's Wolf 359 monologue was extremely well acted and the sound effects during that scene were so chilling. Seven's "She calls me Commander Seven... OUT OF RESPECT" gotcha. I loved that. And the scene with the baby jellyfishes made me kind of emotional? Like just that sense of wonder at encountering new life is something that's so quintessential to Trek.

Such a perfect scene. Best thing on this series so far.
I was going to cut them a little bit of slack this week about everything being dark since they were trying to conserve power but it’s really ridiculous when you think about how brightly lit the bridge was on TNG vs how dark it is on this show. Maybe Captain Shaw just likes moody lighting for the ~ambience.
lol tbf Matalas said there's some weird exposure shit going on in this episode that's making it even darker than it's supposed to be and they're trying to fix that rn.
Hi everyone, #StarTrekPicard 304 is supposed to look like it does on the right. Not on the left. We are trying to fix this BIZARRE technical error for a second time. If you CAN'T wait, I encourage you to watch it a second time when it looks right later. If you CAN wait, it… https://t.co/zEnRhJ2cZx - Terry Matalas (@TerryMatalas) March 9, 2023
The way I'm slowly liking Captain Shaw like, to the point now he better not die lol him and Seven play off each other so well I love it.
I hope when they get back to Starfleet they ask for more lights because idk how these people get anything done.
Also! I've been slowly watching Deep Space 9 so I absolutely understood everything about the Changelings pots I was that Leo Dicaprio pointing meme lmao
DS9 is my favorite Trek, so during that scene I just kept thinking that I wished Sisko was on the show. Or really anyone from DS9. We are losing those actors (Nog, Odo and Kai Winn's actors have passed) and so we're running out of time to see them again. Andrew Robinson has said he would be willing to reprise his role as Garak, and he's 80 now.

It looks cool, but compared to the bright comfortable aesthetic of TNG...
