Yeah, he is a nice-looking man (and of course aging is normal!) but I don't buy him, physically or acting-wise as being anywhere near his early twenties. Those forehead lines are giving mid-thirties.
Also, did you ever watch Outlander? He looked so familiar to me and then I realized he played that creep Stephen Bonnet.
I was so genuinely confused when he first popped up as Beverly's son thinking what is the timeline here??? Were they trying to write a canon reason for her not having been in S2 of TNG?!? And no he's supposed to have been born after TNG and is allegedly in his mid-20s. Girl, I guess.
Ohh, he's Bonnet?! It's been a while since I watched Outlander, I mainly remember him from Downton Abbey.
Really loving this season so far! It's a pity that it took them so long to finally get a handle on this show. And I'm not saying that because "oh all the old faves are back!" but I think the new characters work really well here, too, while the first two seasons were very hit-and-miss. Of course, it's par for the course of Star Trek shows to take a while to, you know, grow their beard but with this only having 3 seasons I really hope they find a new place for the non-TNG characters in some spin-off or whatever. Sign me up for the Shaw and Seven show!
season 1 and 2 are so bad. I can't even... The idea of bringing Q back and having a final goodbye for Picard, as he's dying, was a good idea. The rest...
I thought overall they had some solid ideas and some of the new characters were really fun but it didn't quite come together in a satisfying way and didn't mesh emotionally. The seasons had their moments so I wouldn't write it off as a complete failure but... ughhhhh... so many weird creative decisions.
Loved Shaw dismissing the S2 conclusion as "that weird shit that happened on the Stargazer" LMAO
I know many people have come around on Shaw but until he calls Seven by her name and apologizes for not doing it sooner, that hate will live on in my heart.
Wolf 359 was 25 years ago. He needs to get therapy and stop taking out his guilt and anger on anyone who was assimilated. Its not like Seven or Picard rolled up to the Borg and begged to be assimilated. (Seven's dumbass parents maybe but no one else.)
That being said, I loved this episode so fucking much. This was a team working together, trusting each other's abilities, being smart and capable and finding cool new life. Loved it!
The show bringing up the events of Wolf 359 just reminded me of how much I would like to see Sisko or anyone else from DS9 back on my tv. I guess technically Worf counts for both TNG and DS9.
Good then! Fair enough, they aren't as bad as certain other channels but it was getting fairly negative at some point and I dipped out. The preview pics started to look like the same rage meltdown meme things and I just thought "whatever happened there I'm not gonna touch that, yikes" lol
