I was just asking about her!

I was saying I wondered if her dwindling career was by choice or just rough industry, now I see she purposely took a step back

I saw Emma stone lost out on Alice in wonderland and ngl I would have cast Emma

I mean good for her, but damn if you don't have to have her exact hue to be able to say something like this. that aside, I do respek it tho

I remember when her and Jesse Eisenberg dated for a hot minute. I'm glad she got out of that too lol.

There’s been an interesting pattern over the years with Australian actresses specifically who were primed to be the “it” girl but ultimately chose to do smaller projects or work in Australia. Now Mia but I’m also thinking of Emily Browning, Phoebe Tonkin, Teresa Palmer, Isabel Lucas. They’ve just retreated and I wonder if it’s just a specific upbringing where the Hollywood culture just isn’t something they can or want to do. Anywho, good for her. Some stay too long when they know it’s not for them.

I don't think those actresses retreated so much as they just didn't live up to their hype. Besides Emily Browning, they were most ''hot girls'' and on a CW show. They're probably very much still trying and wanting, whereas Mia actually stepped away on her own accord.

Well, Isabel is a shitty actress so she is not missed. I just read the activism and personal life section of her wiki… and good riddance!

Emily Browning just never really took off, which makes me sad. Mia is more talented than all of the ones you listed honestly. She held her own against Nicole Kidman.
