1x7: Apology Tour Jimmy attempts damage control after his party. Paul’s daughter pays another visit. Liz and Sean discover they have something in common.
i go back and forth on this show. i mostly love it for harrison ford he’s so goddamn good and funny
i‘ve thought about it and i know there are a lot of comparisons to ted lasso, and given bill lawrence and brett goldstein, tonally i get it. but in some ways it’s kind of the anti-lasso. like ted lasso’s world is fun to get into because you kind of wish it were real, you wish some guy’s goofy optimism could change everyone around him for the better. with this show, there’s like zero chance anything jimmy does with his patients would be remotely tolerable and ethical irl so there’s a lot of suspension of belief for the sake of the absurdism and humour. it’s fine, it’s just different. ted lasso falls upward and you want to root for him, jimmy keeps fucking things up and i think the show is banking on jason segel’s likeability and people’s sympathy for jimmy to keep it going and idk how successful that will be
yeah but i think jason has the hardest job out of all of them. only jimmy is the one constantly fucking up and needing to apologize for it, and jason has to try to make that watchable lol. like i said idk how successful he is at it but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I knew it was just a matter of time before Alice found out. To be honest, they deserved to get caught. First they were loudly yelling in his bedroom about how they had just slept together and couldn't find her bra when both Alice and Sean were home.
Then they discussed it inside the house while Alice was on the porch.
I'm pretty sure they talked about it a third time when Alice was nearby and I'm just forgetting the exact circumstances.
And of course Alice found out because Jimmy decided to have a talk with his dead wife's picture with the bedroom door wide open. They were so careless about it that the only surprising thing is that she didn't find out sooner.
