Just recently a dog that went to the Boston marathon every year died, he was old and at the end they were like “He has a sister who will continue the tradition!” But very soon after the other dog got sick and it turned out to be terminal cancer 😞

Jesus, is there something toxic lying around or??? Those poor bbs. This has to be unimaginably painful.

oh nooo! that's awful ): I lost 2 dogs within a week of each other. both were Great Danes and bonded - the younger one (7 - so senior for a Dane), passed away from bone cancer and then the oldest (10) passed away the next week. i was away at school and it was fucking awful.

Anton looks like an Irish Wolfhound? or a mix of some sort. I hope it wasn't a giant breed gastro issue (bloat) ): I lost another Dane to that very suddenly when I was young.

Yes, Anton was a wolfhound of some kind. They had just gotten back from Palm Springs apparently. Bill said in their podcast that he is having Stitch autopsied. Not that it would make the loss any better, but if there is maybe something to be learned about what they may have done or eaten, it might make it better.

Palm Springs is so toxic, they spray so much weed killer and fertilizer on the lawns everywhere. I hope that wasn’t the cause.

My boss has a Great Dane he brings into the office sometimes and she’s always surprisingly massive to me lol

Right?! Huge dogs are so wondrous to me. And scary tbh lol. But that big one shaggy doggo in the picture looked sweet. I also loved that 50's film (or early 60's?) The Shaggy Dog as a kid.

lol my dad had a wolfhound who got so big she could just jump their wall and take herself for walks...unfortunately she also liked to play a game where she would run at you and swerve at the last second so i imagine she soiled many a pedestrian's trousers...

(and in the end they rehomed her, my stepmother's brother had a big property and other dogs he'd take her out with, so alls well that ends well..)

This reminds me of a friend of mine. She was able to save all the dogs, but her dog food was contaminated with some kind of bacteria and all her dogs got very sick, the smallest being the worst. He was in the ICU for days until he started to recover.

It really sounds like they all ate something in common, or got affected by a similar toxin that only affects dogs.
