The past weeks I watched Take me Somewhere Nice (Dutch/Bostonian, frustrating but still with me so I guess ..good?), Farming (Jesus heck colonialism really fucking up in every possible way, and Kate Beckinsale should play more assholes), and Cold War again because well it was just right there.

I hope Palm Trees and Power Lines ends in him being jailed and her getting therapy. Also OP, both the first clip and Demons etc don't show for me, but could be a location thing.

Last movie I tried to watch was Don't Worry Darling. I turned it off after the Harry Styles dancing scene.

Trying to finish up Oscar watches before the awards... it's gonna be close! I think I have like seven films left + two short film programs.

Recent watches:

Argentina 1985: This was a pretty good drama! Looked super nice, and was well-acted and informative. I wouldn't say it was groundbreaking in any other respect, but it was interesting to learn more about the trials.

Of An Age: I didn't love this, but I liked it a lot. I do wish someone had backed the camera up about five feet in nearly every scene... all of the extreme close-ups didn't do anything for me. I also wished it'd had subtitles - yes, it's in English, but the Australian accents made it a little tough to fully understand at times. Thom Green was the highlight for me.

The Quiet Girl: A beautiful little film - I cried so much! I feel like if you are a parent and/or were neglected as a child, this will hit pretty fucking hard. It's slow paced, and definitely depressing at points, but never boring. Probably my favorite entry in the International film category so far, but ( ... )
