Holy shit. Who approved this? Who thought this would be ok? It couldn’t have been just one person.

Remember when he said he forgave himself for his crimes? Such a swell guy.

Saying that he forgave himself made me even more furious. Who the fuck cares if you forgive yourself? It's the people you hurt that matters

What the fuck??

Whoever planned this, has no self awareness. We already knew MW doesn't, but as usual, Hollywood going to Hollywoo.

Honestly it was so heinous. I’m not Vietnamese myself (that I know of, though I think it’s possible through my maternal grandmother) but living through covid and the surge of anti-Asian sentiment and the subsequent hate crimes, I feel some kind of way about this.

Which is that I hope he never knows peace. I do NOT have the grace of his victim saying everyone deserves a second chance.

Same - I'm part filipino and I have a lot of feelings about this and about him in general.

Right? It was never below the surface on ONTD - it’s mentioned here every time his name comes up. We all knew, but no one else ever seemed to talk about it.

Years ago, he said he didn't need to apologize because he had forgiven himself. He only brought out one of the Asian men recently when he wanted a liquor license for his restaurant. Felons can't have liquor licenses in Massachusetts. He most likely paid the guy to say he forgave Mark in the hopes he could get the pardon.

He also chased black kids who were on a field trip, threw rocks at them, and called them racial slurs. Also said if he had been on the plane during 9/11, he would have prevented it from happening. He's also super Catholic and has weird ideas about women.

I have hated Mark Wahlberg for so long.

He was on some podcast or something on Ash Wednesday crying some performative bullshit about how "Hollywood" doesn't like his beliefs. Anti-Catholic sentiment is not a fucking thing in the movie industry in any systemic way, unless you're using it as an excuse to be a gross bigot, so I wonder if that was an attempt to get out in front of this criticism. "Waaaaaaah people are mad about that time I blinded a dude while screaming racial slurs, but it's because they HATE JESUS!!!"

He appeared on the Today Show on Wednesday saying he refused to deny his faith which acoodring to him is not popular in his industry. The only people who are called out are people who use their faith to be bigots, so he's telling on himself.

Oh gosh, I didn't realize it was something with as big an audience as the Today Show.
