I’ve spoken about this a bit, but my miscarriage was an awful months-long ordeal without having to add the concern of not knowing if I’d be getting the proper medical care. I needed two D&Cs for the miscarriage and I was so grateful that my OBGYN and all the medical staff were able to give me exactly what I needed as quickly as possible, no questions asked. Everyone should have that available to them. So honestly, I feel for this woman because this is an awful thing to go through, but fuck her for her hypocrisy.
I know the point you’re trying to make, OP. But a D&C isn’t an abortion if the cells are dead.
I did not have an abortion, I miscarried and had an D&C. I would have kept my baby if I had the choice but I didn’t. My child, my clump of cells, was already dead.
It's weird how obtuse people are being about this tbh. "But in the technical scientific definition it is the same procedure!" Yes, but no one is actually speaking about it that way, because if you were only speaking medically, people wouldn't be calling it hypocritical per se lol they're very much framing it as "She had an elective abortion, hypocrite!" when in reality it sounds like she had a lifesaving not-so-elective procedure post-miscarriage. Nothing wrong with getting an elective abortive procedure but that's just objectively not what happened here.
Why? Why is this topic suddenly off limits? Because it’s personal and emotional? It’s like that for every person who ever needed an elective abortion and was denied or had to risk their life to get one. The duggars don’t give a fuck about the pain of those families.

It was heartbreaking, so every little bit of support means a lot.
