There wouldn’t have been anything wrong in doing like in My fair lady and having someone else sing and Nicole act with dubbing on the singing scenes, she was PERFECT as Satine, but in some songs you can hear her voice struggling a bit (like come what may)

This is where MR soared and Phantom failed. Ewan and Nic didn't have to have the best voices to make this show work. The style of music and their acting was superb.

Phantom NEEDED big voices for that music. The leads completely failed (even though I tend to like both Emmy and Gerard in other work) and the show was a mess.

MR and Chicago are the only two movie musicals that really come to mind since....shit, ??? Little Shop of Horrors?? That I can watch over and over again.
