Haha the line near the end was sending me. Idk if we're allowed to talk without spoiler cuts, but when she said "why are you lying? Are you in love with them too? Are you a throuple?" had me rolling 🤣
I'm glad I'm so quick to laughter. With depression, seasonal depression, and complex trauma, (+ the state of the world) being easily amused into belly laughs is a huge grace. It's also why I keep coming here. People's comments here really do send me.
They were both so hilarious and great! I was reading the New Yorker archives (thank you 12 foor ladder for getting me over paywalls) and I spent 30 minutes at least laughing so hard at this part of an interview with Judith Light:
I checked IMDB and the movie is indeed Intimate Agony. And Mark Harmon was in it too!
A young doctor takes a summer position managing an older doctor's office on a resort island in the Hamptons where he makes the disturbing discovery that herpes is running rampant throughout the affluent community. As Dr. Richards gets to know people better he learns just how much this silent epidemic has hurt real people. He is frustrated by the community's denial and makes the bold and extremely unpopular decision to go public with the epidemic to raise greater public awareness about the problem.
I haven't watched today's episode, but i liked 1x05. I binged the first four episodes and all the nice people getting murdered started depressing me tbh.
One of the things I enjoyed/appreciated about 30 Rock was their level of commitment to things like props, background jokes, and short scenes (hiring a bunch of extras and having a custom shirt made for a five second shot of Steve Buscemi saying, “How do you do, fellow kids?” is a perfect example), so getting 20 seconds of the Hamilton knockoff Frankly Franklin made me laugh.

I loved that she was seriously considering that as a possibility!
Her awkward exit from the stage made me laugh too. The spooooky Halloween voice at the end was hilarious.

Imo Autostraddle is a truly unhinged website much of the time, and this article about how 1.05 was sexist and should have been "more nuanced" was like....ugh. They're such an exhausting site, I couldn't even tolerate them in college. They've always been so negative and overly serious.
If this was a film, yes, I get that, but it's a comedy episode!
