They were both so hilarious and great! I was reading the New Yorker archives (thank you 12 foor ladder for getting me over paywalls) and I spent 30 minutes at least laughing so hard at this part of an interview with Judith Light:
I checked IMDB and the movie is indeed Intimate Agony. And Mark Harmon was in it too!
A young doctor takes a summer position managing an older doctor's office on a resort island in the Hamptons where he makes the disturbing discovery that herpes is running rampant throughout the affluent community. As Dr. Richards gets to know people better he learns just how much this silent epidemic has hurt real people. He is frustrated by the community's denial and makes the bold and extremely unpopular decision to go public with the epidemic to raise greater public awareness about the problem.
Omg lol why am I not surprised Mark Harmon is in it? 😂 I love finding "forgotten" films, especially films older than myself, like much older films.
When I was just discovering 80's films, I remember ADORING the movie "Summer School" with him and Kirstie Alley, a DVD that I found at the library, of which I ofc quickly burned myself a copy lollll!
My bff from middle school and I would quote that movie allll the time and she had such a thing for Mark Harmon. Her mom was obsessed with Clint Eastwood (probably still is lol) so it makes sense her daughter would be attracted to that type of dude too hah. It seems like he wasn't that well known until NCIS.
P.S. Is it just me or does that description kind of sound like a horror movie? Like "Fallout" mixed with "Dawn of the Dead" but due to....HERPES! 😨😱 🤣 Dun dun DUNNNN!
