I like buying and collecting art from smaller artists. I want to start collecting more originals this year so I can start downsizing on my prints.

I have a lot of prints and not enough wall space lol. But I do have an original I commissioned from one of my fav smaller artists and now I’m thinking ok maybe I should just go for commissions from now on

My theory is "Banksy" is actually an art collective and they have a member who does the personal appearances, lol.

This probably isn't considered an "art" collection but I was reading Forget the Alamo and learned that Phil Collins has a huge Alamo memorabilia collection. weird.

I googled because i thought he was English and he is. Why would an English man be obsessed with the Alamo. That's so random.

John Schlesinger was a Brit and made some of the best films about the US ever made, criticizing many aspects of it, like:

Far From the Madding Crowd (1967)

Midnight Cowboy (1969)

The Day of the Locust (1975)

Marathon Man (1976)

Oh yeah definitely! I don't think it's weird to make films about America in general, but being obsessed with one military battle, kinda strange.

I'm currently watching a BritBox docuseries about British cinema and they cover Schlesinger going to America, really interesting if you have BritBox.
