I’ve always thought he went back to football because he didn’t want to deal with his failing marriage. Considering how fast the divorce happened and how fast both of them moved on - it’s obvious they’ve been having issues for a long time. Football was his escape from having to deal with the personal problems.

On a more serious note, I was disappointed at the lack of Gamora and Thanos in the last Avengers. I thought we’d see more of a struggle with Thanos and his decision to sacrifice his “daughter” and I was ready to feel kinda sad, but nope. I had to hold in my laughter as Tony Stark died instead.

I'm down with the whole multiverse thing, but emotionally speaking it's like...well, what was the point.
