I've never watched more than 5 minutes of their show one time and somehow from the intro I just KNEW Jinger would be the whistleblower on this BS. Or at least be the one to leave and never speak to them again.

Is she the first one to write a book?

she's actually not the first one to leave, although I guess you can argue that Jill was kind of forced out. Jill has been on her own for a while (she's still a fundie Christian though) and she and her husband have spoken out against the family.

I think Jill might actually be slightly less fundie than Jinger atm, but they're both pretty deep in religion still, just not IBLP-level.

"There are a lot of cult-like tendencies."

Yeah because it’s a cult, dude. I would love to see Jim Bob’s reaction to this. Also, doesn’t she give Ben a shout out as the brother in law who made her start to rethink things? That’s gotta be awkward for him since Jessa remains a favoured child.

I think she meant her husbands brother.

Good for her :) Its hard to leave cult religions because you are tied to it by proxy with your family. :( Leaving southern baptism and calling it out was one of the best things I ever did for myself.

samesies! Though I'm not that free of it. I'm my mom's caretaker and she goes to about 5 church events per week. I'll take her/drop her off/help her with the computer for her Zoom Bible study because that's what she wants to do. But I shut her down immediately when she tries to drag me into it.

Oh man, Mormons and Catholics in my family. I'm full atheist. That did not go over well.

That said, I'm so happy to be religion free.
