I listen to her podcast, and she makes fun of her younger self a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. She tells a story about how she masturbated all of the time in the living room as a 9 year old and her family wouldn't say anything, and now she's mortified they never told her to stop humping the couches.

edit: and by younger self, I mean the first 46 years of her life

At 9 years old? Yikes. My social worker friends would have opinions on that.

Maybe I’m not the normal one. I had what I thought was a normal curiosity about my body at that age, but I wasn’t humping the couch all the time.

I’m having a hard time believing this. I know her brand is to be ditzy, but come on now.

It’s absolutely not true. I dare say it would be near impossible for anyone older than a child to think this simply by how inescapable the sun and moon are in all of human culture. Unless Chelsy just broke free of Plato’s cave, she just thinks it’s a funny anecdote for some reason

My mother thought bunnies came out of eggs well into her late 40s.

We were at a restaurant with paper placemats and the food was taking forever to come out. This was pre-smartphone so I was bored AF and she was paying so I didn't even have my bag (which would have had a pen) with me. I asked her for a pen and started doodling. I ran out of ideas and asked her what to draw. She said "draw a bunny coming out of an egg."

I was like "ma, bunnies don't come out of eggs." She kept saying they did, and she was like "yeah, but the Easter bunny lays them, no?" I was like "....wut?" I mean, maybe her fundamental misunderstanding of the Easter bunny comes from the fact we're Jewish, but that doesn't explain her fundamental misunderstanding of ACTUAL bunnies.

she also believed the easter bunny was real into her late 40s?

No, she knew the easter bunny wasn't real, she just believed his origin story involved him COMING FROM said eggs and that real bunnies did too
