The movie soundtracks had some pretty great tracks early on! I’ll never forget hearing American Idol finale songs and realizing that I’d heard them already in the Pokémon movies. 😂

I know lots of people were asking for a change but when I've read this yesterday I felt very sad lol

I feel like I also went through a lot in this 25 years with ash but for the sake of the franchise it's good that they are doing it

I didn’t realize people wanted a change. Ash being an eternal 10-year-old was something I just assumed was “canon,” for lack of a better term. Also I really liked what they were doing with the Alola school setting and his adventures with sweet boy Goh. :( I was hoping this wouldn’t happen when they let him win.

I’m actually curious if this will result in a sustained ratings boost outside of Japan. I’m sure people will tune in for the first episode but for many folks, the animated series is all about Ash and Pikachu.

I think at one point people were discussing if Goh was Ash's replacement or such. I feel like people were expecting but like myself was not ready at all.

there will be so many some dissapointments, complaints about the new series as expected after 25 years so I am curious about the ratings too. I wonder if things goes not as planned, would they slowly and slowly incorparate Ash into the new show

I was surprised that they let Goh stick around for as long as they did, but I guess it makes sense if he represents Pokémon Go (which apparently will never die???). He’s my favorite companion since Misty. It was cool to see them bring back characters like Dawn during the Diamond/Pearl remaster, too.

I hope the new show does well, but I was looking forward to having Ash and Go visit Paldea. Hopefully they do justice to my man Larry in the show.

If being a Pokemon trainer were a real job, I would do that and I'm in my late 30s.

You can walk around anywhere, Ash never seemed worried about food/shelter/health care, and you can hang out with Pokemon. I wouldn't want to retire from that.
