After more than 25 years and getting crowned as a Pokémon master, ash Ketchum/Satoshi and his battle partner, Pikachu, are retiring from the evergreen anime part of the franchise.
The new protagonists for the upcoming season have been reveled, Riko and Roi. Set to travel on the new Spain based region.
But before ash leaving for good, he’ll star for one last time a special Xmas OVA and a limited series consisting of 11 episodes airing during the first 3 months of 2023.

Also, Sarah Natochenny, voice actress of ash, has issued a statement being grateful for lending her voice to the Pokémon champion for 17 years.
