this year i saw dua lipa who put on a pretty good show - not the best concert I’ve ever been to but she’s clearly grown a lot as an artist! i saw some lesser known acts as well.

next year i want to see Beyoncé if we ever get those tour dates. On that note, i should say that i heard from someone in the music industry that the visuals for Renaissance do exist, in theory, but she’s STILL FILMING THEM LOL!!! not even at the editing stage yet.

I was so thirsty for live music post-pandemic I bought tickets to everything I could. This year I saw Lady Gaga, Echo and the Bunnymen, Morrissey, Blondie, the Psychedelic Furs, Garbage, Alanis, Bikini Kill, the Australian Pink Floyd Show, and a bunch of other random bands at two different music festivals. I don't have anything else coming up until July 2023 and I'm in withdrawal. Hopefully the Cure announces North American tour dates soon. The pics and videos from their European tour have been amazing.

when i was younger i was too broke, and as an adult i just don't care anymore 🤷‍♀️

You've never seen live music at all?

my parents dragged me to some shows and i've seen one or two at a party, but not like an actual concert

That still counts. Like, my very first concert was Sesame Street Live or something. Not every concert can have Big Bird, but the shows your parents dragged you to count.

idk live music is just different and I say this as someone who rarely goes and doesn't like groups of people or loud noises. If there's a group you really like, check it out once and it might agree with you. And then if it doesn't, then at least you'll know.

I was meant to see Kacey Musgraves earlier this year but she cancelled her Toronto show four hours before it was meant to start! I haven’t listened to an album of hers since. I also had tickets to The Weeknd and that was cancelled the day of because of The Rogers outage grrr. He did reschedule though so i saw him eventually.

I also saw Rina Sawayama, Gorgon City, Billy Talent and Alexis on Fire. It was a good year all things considered!
