For the past few days, I've been trying to watch a movie, but every time I turn it on:

- My dog starts going crazy and is barking at everything, jumping off the bed and then since he can't get up on the bed without my help, I have to help him up
- The cat gets in my face and if I move, she moves with me
- Someone calls
- Someone needs my help
- The app will shut down or just stop working all together

I've given up trying to watch anything lol

Gonna go see Empire of Light sometime in the next couple weeks, but I am keeping my expectations low. I just love Olivia!! Also going to watch Emily the Criminal on Netflix - it's up for an Independent Spirit Award and I've heard good things. And I'm excited for Matilda, but I will probably wait for Netflix bc I know I am gonna cry cry.

We went to see White Noise earlier this week - it's in select theaters now, but will be on Netflix on December 30th. I knew it had mixed reviews out of Venice (and better reviews out of NYFF), and I'm not really an Adam Driver stan, but I thought it looked good. Well, I'm glad we went, because I loved it, and it will probably end up in my top 10 of the year! I can see how it's been divisive, though

i read white noise a long time ago and loved it - i'm a bright eyes/conor oberst stan lol and one song namechecks don delillo so i went straight to the library when i heard it and checked out a bunch of his books. the last paragraph/line of white noise has stuck with me ever since i read it, it's really powerful imo. your thoughts on the film are really making me want to see it!

I am ALSO a Bright Eyes/Conor stan and "Don DeLillo, whiskey neat" pops into my head whenever I think of his name! lol. I'm so glad you liked the book, I am optimistic that I will, too.

omg yes! it's honestly one of my favourite song openings ever! btw right now i am wearing a t shirt i bought a month or so ago that says "conor oberst ruined my life" lol. i would definitely recommend the book and other don delillo stuff too - zero k is a newer work by him but i think it's really accessible and a good intro to his stuff!
