Sounds like no one is safe.
The report states that DC's new plan could be to close down the Snyderverse and shut down Man of Steel 2 starring Henry Cavill, as well as end Aquaman movies starring Jason Momoa. Both characters are set to cameo in the upcoming Flash movie.

Please, someone, just put the DCEU out of its misery so it can be reincarnated as a not terrible version of itself.

Isn’t that technically what this would be. Like they’re pulling the plug on everything but Shazam at this point…

That looks like what they're doing.

Hmm this is really surprising to me. How do you move forward without Wonder Woman? I know WW84 was awful and Gal is terrible but both movies still did well (the first WW is the best DC movie so far for me) and Diana's a beloved character.

Or are they going to do a recast and go in a different direction because I wouldn't be sad to see GG go.

ETA: Read the article and they do say it's dead in its current form so I guess there is still the possibility of Gal as WW in another capacity or if they completely redo the script to fit with their "vision". I would still like to see a recast or something else.

Multiple movies did just fine once theaters actually opened back up, Spider-Man made almost 2 billion dollars. BA was never gonna do those numbers but it's not even going to make its budget back, that's not good no matter how you slice it.

Spiderman isn't a good example. It literally had a fanbase that went back over 20 years and involved a dozen other films and connected franchises. Analysts are saying that the days of the billion box office are over and $700M is the new "very successful" target.

BA was never gonna do better than it did but it made not end up in the red. Deadline says it's making a profit. They disagree with Variety.

I literally said it was never gonna do those numbers, but there have been plenty of even non-superhero movies that did just fine even during the pandemic. BA might have turned a profit if its budget wasn't that big but even if it had a lower budget it didn't blow anything out of the water. Deadline's article is full shill ($86mil of the supposed "profit" was WB paying itself for BA going to HBOMax) and even included a sentence about how Black Adam 2 and a Hawkeye spinoff were in the works that vanished after the THR article went up.
